The Dark Star is spoken of as a mysterious celestial omen. It is said to appear when the world is on the edge of change, heralding disaster, transformation, or both. Its true nature is unknown, but both learned scholars and local elders speak of it with caution.

History

• 400 years ago, during a time when angels are said to have fallen from the heavens, the Dark Star appeared in the sky.
• Some traditions describe it as a curse, others as a sign of rebirth or power shifting in the world.
• In local memory, it is tied to fear and superstition, but also treated as a sign that destiny itself is moving.

Role in the Story

• First mentioned in Session 0.25 after the party returned to Dunhallow with the Heart of Emberwood.
